Schools / Kids Martial Arts

To excel in life, children need to develop a strong set of values and solid character that gives them the perseverance and confidence to achieve their goals. The Gracie Oceania Little Samurai Program was created to provide children and teenagers with an environment that allows them to experience and understand core values like focus, discipline, persistence, cooperation and respect.

As a contact sport, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu provides a very challenging yet safe and caring environment for a child to mature towards a real life champion. The outcome of continued childhood practice of BJJ goes far beyond the accomplishments on the mats. The discipline and excellence demanded by our instructors often carries over to the child’s behavior at home and at school.

Gracie Oceania currently conducts tailored school sports programs at Sydney primary and high schools, as well as after-school classes at several of our gyms. All our instructors are First Aid qualified and have passed the NSW Working With Children Check.

For more information about after-school classes in your area, contact your nearest Gracie Oceania location here.

Killarney Heights High School have been working with Mario and the Gracie Oceania Team since 2009 as part of the Wednesday School Sport Program.  Jiu Jitsu has been a popular and successful activity at Killarney with many students choosing it for sport.  Students who do not usually excel in sport have found it to be enjoyable as well as students seeking a challenging or a change from their normal activity.  Mario is always friendly and incredibly supportive with the students.  He is very well respected and a credit to the company.  The most rewarding term was watching Mario and the Team work with and support one of our disabled students - she was able to access the activity and really enjoyed it.

The Gracie Oceania Team ran a Brazillian Jiu Jitsu workshop for a group of young people aged between 12-17 years old for a Leichhardt Council youth program. The class was great with all the young people enjoying the practicality and fun nature of the workshop. Moreover, I found the Gracie Oceania Team to be very friendly and approachable, and I would recommend them for anyone seeking a Martial Arts school that has well rounded instructors and a professional atmosphere.
