In 2007, Mario Sergio Yokoyama and Adriano Magnani united to start Gracie Oceania so they can teach the best of current Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques without forgetting the basic values of the art; Respect, strength of will, teamwork, and honesty, that will also prepare students for everyday life. They are committed to providing a non-competitive environment that encourages good health, fitness, realistic self-defence and personal development.

Gracie Oceania is part of the Ryan and Renzo Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Team in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Ryan Gracie has won 5 Pride Fighting Championships and truly lives up to the Gracie name. Ryan has academies in Brazil, America, Japan and Australia. Renzo Gracie has a big Academy and following in New York. Gracie Oceania is represented by four Brazilian Black Belt Instructors Mario Sergio Yokoyama, Adriano Magnani, Cristiano Alvez, and Joao Kawauti.
